Important Tips to Reduce Stressful Vibrations

Stress is highly contagious, much like the flu virus. Human beings have the innate ability to see and feel someone else’s stress, and thus connect unwittingly to the stressful vibes. If we’re not consciously aware their stress can rub off affecting our health and well being too. I’m sure you’ve noticed how the stress of a loved one or colleague can effect or perhaps even ruin your entire day. Stress like all emotions has a vibration, and we’re all sensitive to ‘vibes’, both good and bad vibes.

Although the stress responce is an in-built survival mechanism designed to keep us safe and secure, reacting to stress and stressful situations can also be a learnt behaviour, which over time becomes a firmly entrenched habit. Just for a moment, think about how your parents, grandparents or primary caregivers responded to stress when you were growing up. Do you mimic and react to stressful situations in the same way they did (or still do)?  That’s exactly what I mean by a ‘learnt behaviour’ – our environment conditions us into certain behavioiural patterns, often beyond our control because as children we don’t know any better; we’re simply like little sponges absorbing whatever happens around us (both the good and the bad).

Now that you know this, you have a choice. All future responces to any given stress will also be a choice. Yes, that’s right … from now onwards, you will choose to respond, or choose to remain calm. Knowing this can be deeply empowering.

I understand that perhaps this statement could be hard hitting because from now on stress no longer happens TO you, as it would to a victim. You get to choose to be the victor by controlling your stress responses (unless of course this is a life threatening situation). By taking ownership of your response – you become ‘response-able’ (responsible).  Powerful, hey?  One thing I do know, is that we also all have the choice of putting up with life’s stressful demands, or making different, better quality choices that better serve us, our health and our wellbeing too. We can change our circumstances.

Maybe you find yourself reacting negatively. Great! Being triggered reveals this is an important reaction to take note of – more importantly, to do something constructive about it. Fortunately even firmly entrenched habits can be easily changed. Likewise reacting negatively to stressful situations can also be changed too. I love nothing more than helping clients change their stress behaviours, beliefs and habits or circumstances enabling them to live better quality and healthier lifestyles.

Like all negative emotions, frequent or chronic stress lowers our body’s vibration – stress reduces our adaptability and our potential. This means we become susceptible to a variety of aches and pains, illness including colds and flu, stomach complaints etc. In extreme cases of chronic or prolonged stress, disease takes hold. Why is this? In a nutshell, stress creates an acidic pH environment in the body, which becomes the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and viruses to thrive in. This is why stress is known as a silent killer. A few years ago I coined this phrase, ‘stress is a dream stealer, relationship destroyer and a silent killer.’

But it doesn’t have to be that way, especially when you know how to handle and treat stress related issues effectively. Before we learn how to raise our vibrations, we should be well aware of what contributes towards lowering our vibrations, thus learn to reduce, and preferably eradicate these negative or detrimental aspects from our lives as soon as possible.

The following emotions contribute towards toxic low vibrations, and should be reduced and avoided as much as possible – all have a stressful effect on the physical body:

  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Remorse
  • Resentment
  • Lack of forgiveness
  • Holding onto the past
  • Arguments
  • Shouting
  • Negative thoughts
  • Toxic relationships
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Addictions
  • Junk food
  • Excessive red meat
  • White sugar
  • Refined foods
  • Environmental toxins
  • Toxic products
  • Chemicals
  • Radiation
  • Medication

The following tips help raise your vibration and contribute towards positive energy, health and well being, thus making you less susceptible to stress. By repeatedly doing so you are creating a new habit. Done daily, these simple tips help raise your vibration as well as assisting you to rise above and cope with those unavoidable stress related issues:

  • Gratitude
  • Kindness
  • Acceptance
  • Forgiveness
  • Love
  • Joy
  • Passion
  • Creativity
  • Sunshine – vitamin D
  • Walking in Nature
  • Earthing (grounding)
  • Light exercise – walking, yoga, swimming
  • Breathing deeply
  • Laughter
  • Hugging
  • Dancing
  • Singing
  • Enjoying relaxing music
  • Eating raw whole foods, greens, nuts
